The lecture for week 7 was given by Dr Kyle Boyd who teaches Interaction Design. He gave us an introduction to the course and introduced us to some aspects of IxD.
He began by explaining what IxD was; creating a meaningful relationship between people and and devices and to facilitate interactions between people and their environment. IxD has a range of platforms such as apps, games, smartwatches and voice input, which made me realise interaction design is everywhere. For example the interface on an Apple iPhone or a website.
Dr Kyle told us that their are 5 dimensions of IxD, these include:words, visual representation, physical objects/space,time and behaviour. He also told us that a lot of drawing and prototyping happens in this course. Although I liked the idea of designing layouts of websites I know that this course is not for me.
