Erick Brandt in another Graphic Designer who influences me. I love his use of bold colours and shapes in his work, because its very eye catching and attractive. His work is quite graphic and simple, but it gets a message across. and can often be political.
He sometimes uses conflicting colours and a range of typefaces in his designs which I like.
In particular I like how he uses a sans serif font in this poster above and spreads it out across the page to create a distorted look. He mixes geometric shapes and colour with this text to create a nice balance and add some vibrance to the design.
In this poster he has manipulated the text and flipped it the opposite way which really engages the audience to read the poster and think harder about the message its trying to communicate. The simple black and white tones work best and make it easier to read.
I think Erik Brandt has a very unique style of design and has a great ability house text and colour to communicate messages through design.
